Cuckoo Clock Learning

Project Year: 2014 — 2017

A family app project. Completed by me and my husband as an experiment of full-cycle mobile app development.

Published on Google Play Store in two versions: free and premium. Translated into English, French and German.

Cuckoo Clock Learning teaches children to tell time in a fun and non-intrusive way. Attractive and tasteful graphics make the children learn naturally!

This educational app has two modes: Cuckoo Free Play, and Train Timetable. Both are presented in high-definition graphics with carefully mixed audio samples.

Cuckoo Free Play features:

  • Interactive wall clock.
  • 24-hour flipcard clock.
  • High-quality voice recording in English (US), English (UK), French (France), French (Quebec) and German.
  • Smooth and funny animations of birds jumping out of the clock.
  • Physics-driven sun, stars and moon that react to movement of your device.

Train Timetable features:

  • Interactive station clock.
  • A series of challenges of increasing difficulty that teaches children to use the clock.
  • Each task completion is rewarded with a train pulling a surprise load.
  • Physics-driven station bell that can be activated by tapping on or shaking the device.
  • Simulated steam engine smoke, animated characters and train loads.

Great for kids from ages 3 to 9!
